Fly Away

***Writing Tip: Everyone has things they wish they could have known.  Think of how someone/something else would be impacted by not knowing something. ***

Little bluebird
perched in his nest
chirps his mournful cry.
He can't get out,
his nest is too small,
and thunder is rolling in.
Threatening clouds
come closer and closer
as the bird buries his head.
His eyes are covered
in the weight of feathers
as he shields himself from life.
The poor bird doesn't know
he can just spread his wings
and fly away.
